Paulina Barreiro is an Italian-Argentinean stage and costume designer with roots in Buenos Aires, Milan and Berlin. She studied Stage Design at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and the TU Berlin.

She has a close and long-standing collaboration with Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, where she initially worked as an assistant stage designer on productions of renowned German and international artists, among others Robert Wilson, David Bösch, Patrick Bannwart, Stefan Kimmig, Oliver Helf, Alexander Eisenach, Daniel Wollenzin. 

During her time as an assistant and beyond, she created her own stage designs and costumes in collaboration with directors such as Fabian Rosonsky, Alessandra Giuriola, Stas Zhyrkov and Bassam Ghazi. Beside her work in Düsseldorf, she works as a stage and costume designer in Germany, Italy and Switzerland. Her work has been shown among others at the Berlin Performing Arts Festival, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Theater Paderborn, Gandersheim Domfestspiele and Musikalische Komödie in Leipzig.

Paulina Barreiro is particularly interested in projects that deal with questions of current social discourse and focuses especially on topics of identity, immigration and belonging.
